MALAYSIA PREMIUM VISA PROGRAMME

On September 1st 2022, Malaysia launched the Premium Visa Programme (PVIP), designed to entice foreign investors to settle in the country for a 20-year period, with the possibility of extending their stay for an additional 20 years.

This programme is akin to the Golden Visa schemes offered by Thailand, Singapore, and Portugal. Wealthy individuals from nations that have diplomatic relations with Malaysia can apply, provided they meet the programme's criteria. The number of applications is limited to 1% of Malaysia's total population.

As the first "Residency Through Investment" initiative introduced by the Malaysian government, the programme aims to stimulate economic growth. Applications, which are to be submitted through authorized agents, were made available starting October 1st 2022.
